#CMT# #/CMT# Use of a liquid ester of aromatic carboxylic acid as an agent to protect the color of artificially dyed keratinous fibers, particularly human hair, against washing, is claimed. #CMT# : #/CMT# Independent claims are included for: (1) protecting the color of artificially dyed keratinous fibers, particularly human hair, against washing by applying a composition comprising the liquid ester of aromatic carboxylic acid of formula (I) in a medium, on the fibers before/after dyeing; (2) dyeing of keratinous fibers i.e. human hair, comprising applying a direct/oxidation dye composition (A1) until color development and applying a composition (A2) comprising (I) in a medium, before/after applying (A1); and (3) multi-component coloring agent comprising: a first component containing a composition (A1), or a dye composition comprising either a direct dye or an oxidation base and optionally a coupling agent and/or a direct dye; and a second composition comprising a component (A2). R14-30C, preferably 8-24C alkyl; and R2H or OH, preferably H. #CMT#[Image]#/CMT# #CMT#USE : #/CMT# The liquid ester of aromatic carboxylic acid as is useful an agent to protect the color of artificially dyed keratinous fibers, particularly human hair, against washing (claimed). #CMT#ORGANIC CHEMISTRY : #/CMT# Preferred Components: The liquid ester of aromatic carboxylic acid is (I). (I) is 12-15 carbon alkyl benzoates, isostearyl benzoate, octyledodecyl benzoate, behenyl benzoate or 2-ethyl-hexyl benzoate, preferably 2-ethyl-hexyl benzoate, 12-15 carbon alkyl benzoates or isostearyl benzoate. The organic solvent is 1-4 carbon alkanols comprising ethanol and isopropanol and/or polyols and polyol ethers. #CMT#PHARMACEUTICALS : #/CMT# Preferred Composition: The composition comprises a medium comprising water or a mixture of water and organic solvent. The solvents are present at 1-40 wt.%, preferably 3-30 wt.% of the composition. (I) is present in the composition at 1-100 wt.%, preferably 5-90 wt.% of the composition. (I) is present in the composition at 100 wt.%. The composition further comprises additives comprising anionic, cationic, non-ionic, amphoteric and/or zwitterionic surfactants, anionic, cationic, non-ionic, amphoteric and/or zwitterionic polymers, mineral or organic thickeners, preferably anionic, cationic, non-ionic and/or amphoteric polymer associative thickeners, penetration agents, chelating agents, perfumes, buffers, dispersing agents, conditioning agents comprising optionally modified (non)volatile silicones, film forming agents, ceramides, preservatives and opacifiers. The composition further comprises agents protecting against the atmospheric effects, particularly light, where the agent comprises organic UV filters, anti-free radical agents and antioxidants. The composition comprises aromatic alcohol and conditioners. The conditioners are present in the composition at 0.001-20 wt.%, preferably 0.1-3 wt.%. The composition is present in the form of aqueous or hydroalcoholic lotion, oil, gel, milk, cream, emulsion or foam. The composition is packaged in spray, pump bottles or aerosol container. The pH of the composition is 1-11, preferably 2-6. The dyeing composition (A) results from the mixture at the time of use of: a dyeing composition containing at least one direct dye and a composition containing an oxidizing agent; or a dyeing composition containing at least one oxidation base and optionally at least one coupler and/or a direct dye and a composition containing an oxidizing agent. Preferred Process: The composition is applied after dyeing. The process further comprises rinsing and/or shampooing before or after applying the composition, and complete or partial drying of the keratinous fibers with a hair dryer. The process further comprises heating the composition just before/after applying the composition on the keratinous fibers. The heating is done using iron, a mixture of liquid water/steam or using a helmet heater. The application of the composition (A1) is followed by rinsing and/or drying keratinous fibers. The application of the composition (A2) is followed by rinsing, drying and/or heating the keratinous fibers. The composition (A2) is already heated. The composition (A2) is applied after the application of the composition (A1), either immediately or deferred, and applications of the composition is repeated between two dyeing steps. |
