An ignition coil for an internal combustion engine is provided to achieve improved insulation performance by improving the structure of a diode support member such that insulating resin is smoothly introduced into a secondary spool. An ignition coil for an internal combustion engine includes a secondary spool(10), a diode(32), a diode support member(20), and a lead pin support unit(16). The secondary spool is wound with a secondary coil. The diode has a lead pin(30) wound with the secondary coil, and is disposed on one surface of the secondary spool. The diode support member is mounted on one surface of the secondary spool, and supports the diode. The lead pin support unit is formed on one surface of the secondary spool, and supports the lead pin during bending of the lead pin.
