PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a reproduction side to perform normal reproduction even when multichannel data is transmitted selectively in a compressed or uncompressed state or when downmixing on the reproduction side is selectively permitted or inhibited. SOLUTION: ATSI (audio title set information) includes a first identifier showing whether multichannel data in an audio packet is compressed or not and a second identifier showing whether downmixing of the multichannel data into two stereophonic channels is permitted or inhibited.
