An air conditioner is provided to increase the efficiency of heating by circulating hot water when heating is performed and thereby heating an indoor space equally. An air conditioner comprises a multistage compressor(100), a condenser(300), expansion valves(410,420), a phase separator(500) separating gaseous refrigerant from liquid refrigerant, an evaporator(600), and a hot water supply device(800) supplying hot water by performing heat transfer to gaseous refrigerant discharged from the multistage compressor. Additionally, a four-way valve(200) is installed in the air conditioner, which controls refrigerant supplied to the condenser, the multistage compressor and the evaporator. The expansion valves include each of a first valve expanding refrigerant while controlling a volume of the refrigerant supplied to the phase separator and a second valve expanding refrigerant while controlling a volume of liquid refrigerant supplied to the evaporator.
