The present invention provides a hybrid industrial vehicle (11) which prevents the battery (36) from water splash. A hybrid industrial vehicle (11) has a combination of an engine (28) and a motor (30) as a drive source for load handling or traveling, a battery (36) as a power source for the motor (30) and a counterweight (W). The battery (36) is disposed on the counterweight (W) and is located above the center of the counterweight (W) as measured in the vertical direction between the highest and the lowest ends thereof.
