PURPOSE: A membrane electrode assembly for a fuel cell is provided to comprise a large amount of catalysts by reducing shadow effect generated during catalyst layer formation, and to ensure high energy density per unit volume by preventing shrinkage of a catalyst layer caused by solvent volatilization. CONSTITUTION: A membrane electrode assembly for a fuel cell comprises an anode and a cathode which are faced with each other, and a polymeric electrolyte membrane positioned between the anode and cathode. The anode and cathode comprise a catalyst layer(111) and a diffusion layer(112) respectively. The catalyst layers of each electrode are faced with each other.
