#CMT# #/CMT# The injector (52) has an injector body (12) forming a nozzle (14) ended in a fuel injection orifice, and a closing unit closing the orifice. The unit has a vibrating pin (24) ended in a closing head (26) to close the orifice. An active assembly (28) has a magnetostrictive bar, a solenoid and a prestressed spring for vibrating the pin with respect to a cylindrical case (44) to alternatively close and open the orifice. A retaining spring (30) recalls the closing unit in a closing position of the orifice. A blocking unit (54) is selectively activated to block the case with respect to the body. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Fuel injector for injecting fuel to a combustion chamber of an inwards or outwards opening needle injector type internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The blocking unit is selectively activated to block the case with respect to the body, thus blocking the case during injection when the magnetostrictive bar, solenoid and the prestressed spring control the up rising of the head in a continuous manner, and hence avoiding the need to replace the head against the orifice by the retaining spring. The retaining spring is chosen such that the spring exerts the sufficient force to ensure good sealing of the injector outside the injection phases. The injector increases the injection of the fuel.
