PURPOSE: A plasma display device is provided to improve driving efficiency and remove heat due to the unnecessary switching element driving by selectively driving the switching elements according to an amount of currents. CONSTITUTION: A driving circuit includes a switch comprised of a plurality of switching elements connected in parallel. A controller supplies a control signal with on and off information of the switching elements. The controller determines the number of switching elements which are on according to the current quantity supplied to the switch and detects the current supplied to the switch according to an average picture level of the display image. The driving circuit includes a current detection circuit. A current detection circuit detects the current quantity supplied to the switch. |
