PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor having high sensitivity. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor has a photosensitive layer containing at least an electron transporting agent, a charge generating agent, and a binder resin on a conductive substrate, wherein the electron transporting agent is a compound expressed by a general formula (1). In the formula, R<SB>1</SB>represents a 1-6C straight-chain or branched alkyl group, a 6-20C aryl group which may have a 1-6C straight-chain or branched alkyl group as a substituent, a 6-20C aralkyl group, a 3-10C cycloalkyl group, or a 1-6C straight-chain or branched alkoxy group; and Ar represents a 6-20C aryl group which may have a 1-6C straight-chain or branched alkyl group as a substituent.
