A deoxidizer for steelmaking and a preparation method of the deoxidizer for steelmaking are provided, wherein the deoxidizer for steelmaking is preferably applicable to various steelmaking industries since the deoxidizer has an excellent deoxidizing effect, does not generate ammonia gas at all or hardly generate the ammonia gas during the preparation process, and has superior drying rate due to the low water content after drying. A deoxidizer for steelmaking is formed in such a shape that two truncated cones are symmetrically joined with each other, and comprises an Al-containing raw material, and a binder containing sodium silicate, molasses, and an inorganic adsorbent, wherein: the inorganic adsorbent is one selected from the group consisting of bentonite, zeolite, sepiolite, silica gel, activated clay, quartz porphyry, and mixtures thereof; the Al-containing raw material comprises 15 to 60% by weight of pure Al as a byproduct generated after extracting aluminum; and the deoxidizer for steelmaking comprises 50 to 90% by weight of Al-containing raw material, 3 to 15% by weight of sodium silicate, 3 to 15% by weight of molasses, and 4 to 25% by weight of an inorganic adsorbent. |
