The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for the non-destructive identification of elastic engineering constants of structural materials. The data is obtained from the measurements of the natural frequencies of test beams made from the structural material. From these data a MIC-panel can be made and a measurement of the natural frequencies of this MIC-panel identifies the elastic engineering constants the structural material.
