PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission having a simple structure, easy in construction, suitable for mass production, rich in durability, easy in realizing the large gear ratio and a multistage shape, capable of saving resources, and capable of reducing cost, by locking or freeing a shaft and a gear, by slidingly constructing a tapered roller bearing of a special roller ratchet. SOLUTION: This transmission is realized by controlling locking and freeing of the gear and the shaft by equipping so as to mesh with and separate from an inner race 7 and an outer race 9, by slidingly equipping a roller shaft 1111A of this tapered roller bearing 8 from an external part by extending outside a cage 1010A, by remodeling a roller ratchet using the tapered roller bearing 8 so as to operate by both reciprocal rotations between one gear and the shaft of respective combinations of the different gear ratio.
