PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a caisson for an economical approach which facilitates disassembling work, contributes to a shortened construction period and cost reduction, and brings about the reduction of construction waste, and to provide a method of constructing a tunnel approach section by using the caissons. SOLUTION: First side walls on both sides in a road longitudinal sectional direction are formed of tentative walls that are assemblable and disassemblable and have functions of earth retaining walls, and second side walls on both sides in a road cross sectional direction that are connected or fixed to the tentative walls are formed of concrete. A lower portion of each first side wall is fixed to an upper portion of a pneumatic slab formed on a lower portion of a caisson skeleton, and an upper portion of the side wall is supported by or fixed to a supporting means or a fixing means. Further the tunnel approach section is constructed by disassembling the first side walls of the caissons and connecting them to each other. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
