PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modification method for ammonium polyphosphate, bringing thereof into free of slime even when contacted with hot water. SOLUTION: The modification method for ammonium polyphosphate to eliminate slime feeling caused by moisture, is carried out by treating the surface of ammonium polyphosphate with 0.1-50 pts.mass of an acid on the basis of 100 pts.mass of ammonium polyphosphate.
