Nebulizer and process for delivering a nebulized liquid solution, in particular an aerosolized drug. In the preferred embodiment, the nebulizer comprises a pump shaft (13) and further a vibrating element (5) for vibrating the pump shaft (13), and a mesh member (6) comprising one or several traversing holes (14) and cooperating with the pump shaft (13) for nebulizing the liquid. At least one sensor (7) is used for detecting at least an inspiration phase of the user. The vibrating element (5) vibrates the pump shaft (13) in response to the detection of an inspiration phase by said sensor (7) so as to deliver the nebulized liquid solution only during the inhalation phases of the user.
