PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium front/back inverting device capable of inverting the front and the back of a medium 20 such as a bill or the like, aligning the mediums 20, and inverting even the mediums having different lengths in the direction of conveyance and conveying them without fail. SOLUTION: This medium front/back inverting device is provided with a timing detection part 4 for detecting a rear end of the medium 20 and turning an inversion arm part 11 after the predetermined time t2 elapses from rear end detection timing T2 of the medium 20. Alternatively, this medium front/back inverting device is provided with at least a plurality of timing detection parts 4, a plurality of inversion arm parts 11, and a plurality of inversion rollers 15 to control a plurality of inversion arm parts 11 and a plurality of inversion rollers 15 based on the results of detection by a plurality of timing detection sensors, respectively.
