A color filter array and an image sensor using the same are provided to output an image having better white balance by preventing a general color break-up generation. A pixel(30) having a photoelectron conversion device or a photo diode is formed on a surface layer of a semiconductor substrate. An optical shielding layer(32) has an optical shielding region which shields a region of the pixel except for the photo diode. An opening region(33) is formed through the optical shielding layer which passes a light. A micro lens(34) collects a light to the photo diode. A two-dimensional array includes a plurality of first color filters, a plurality of second color filters, and a plurality of third filters. The first, second, and third color filters formed in a first region of the two-dimensional array and the first, second, and third color filters formed in a second region of the two-dimensional array are symmetry.
