PURPOSE: A steering gear for a vehicle is provided to make the assembling work easily and simply by mounting a rack bearing, a spring and a plug within a rack housing. CONSTITUTION: A steering gear(10) for a vehicle comprises a rack housing(15), a rack bar(14), a pinion gear(13), a rack bearing(16), a plug(19) and a spring(18). The rack housing is a tube formed long in a horizontal direction. The rack bar is slid within the rack housing. The pinion gear is engaged with one side of the rack bar and a torsion rotating force is transferred to the rack bar. The rack bearing adheres closely the rack bar to the pinion gear. The plug supports the rack bearing. The spring elastically supports the rack bearing.
