<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pigment dispersion liquid in which a large amount of a pigment is finely and uniformly dispersed even when a dispersant is used in a small amount, to provide a photosensitive coloring composition which can form a color layer of high electric reliability having excellent platemaking characteristics, high color density even in a thin layer, favorable surface smoothness and no elution of impurities, and to provide a color filter realizing a wide color reproducing range. <P>SOLUTION: The pigment dispersion liquid for a color resist and the photosensitive coloring composition contain at least: a pigment; a pigment dispersant comprising a copolymer containing a molecular structure in which at least a structural unit having a specified quaternary ammonium salt group in the side chain is linked with a structural unit having a specified ester structure, and containing neither a polyether chain nor an acidic functional group; a copolymer having a molecular structure in which at least a structural unit having an acidic functional group, a structural unit having a photosetting functional group, and a structural unit having ≥10 SP value and no acidic functional group are linked together; and an organic solvent.
