PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component suitable for being incorporated in a cosmetic and having an effect of inhibiting acne inflammation, and also a skin preparation for external use such as the cosmetic by utilizing the same. SOLUTION: This acylated hydroquinone glycoside is expressed by general formula (1): R-Su-Hy [wherein, R is a 6C-30C branched chain monovalent aliphatic acyl group; Su is a saccharide residue; and Hy is a hydroquinone residue] or its physiologically acceptable salt.
