METHOD FOR CONTROLLING A POWER IN A DUAL-STANDBY MODE MOBILE TERMINAL AND APPARATUS THEREOF

PURPOSE: A method for controlling power in a dual-standby mode mobile terminal and an apparatus thereof are provided to reduce power consumption of the dual-standby mode mobile terminal when a call of a GSM(Global System for Mobile Communications) type and a call of a CDMA(Code Divisional Multiple Access) type are simultaneously received. CONSTITUTION: A mobile terminal performs a call standby service with the first communication network while the mobile terminal performs a communication service with the second communication network. The mobile terminal receives the first PCL(Power Control Level) from a base station of the first communication network(S310). A power code is set up for current transmission signal power control. A controller compares the second PCL corresponding to the power code with the first PCL(S340). When the first PCL is not lower than the second PCL, the controller reduce the current power code(S330).
