METHOD OF MANUFACTURING CARBON AEROGEL AND THE CARBON AEROGEL MANUFACTURED USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing carbon aerogel and the carbon aerogel manufactured thereby are provided to reduce processing time with a specific catalyst, and to produce the catalyst having uniformity. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing carbon aerogel uses ammonium hydroxide as a catalyst. The concentration of the ammonium hydroxide is 0.1 ~ 1.5M, and the ammonium hydroxide is included on the carbon aerogel with a molar ratio of 0.06 or more. The method for manufacturing the carbon aerogel includes the following steps of: generating sol by reacting resorcinol and formaldehyde with deionized water; producing resorcinol - formaldehyde wet gel; substituting a solvent of the wet gel; producing the resorcinol - formaldehyde aerogel by drying the substituted wet gel; and producing the carbon aerogel by carbonizing the resorcinol - formaldehyde aerogel.
