PURPOSE: A handrail cleaning device for an escalator or moving walk without power supply is provided to drive cleaning rollers by the torque of a handrail and selectively drive a coating roller, thereby cutting down on maintenance cost. CONSTITUTION: A handrail cleaning device for an escalator or moving walk without power supply comprises a cleaning body(12) housing a part of a handrail(11), a cleaning agent tank(13), cleaning rollers(14), a cleaning agent sub tank(15) supplementing a cleaning agent to the cleaning agent tank, a coating agent containing tank(16) keeping a coating agent for coating the handrail, a coating roller(17) coating the handrail while turning in contact with the handrail, a dryer(18) drying the handrail washed by the cleaning rollers, and an far-infrared lamp(19) irradiating far-infrared ray to the hand of the user.
