A filter system for purifying liquid which can be commercialized at an inexpensive cost, does not cause the secondary environmental pollution, increases liquid purifying and refining capabilities, produces weak alkaline ionized water, and is also beneficial to health of the human body is provided. A polygonal filter for purifying and refining liquids comprises: a raw material mixing step(S11) of mixing principal raw materials of 35 to 45 wt.% of clay, 15 to 25 wt.% of zinc oxide(ZnO), 15 to 25 wt.% of calcium oxide(CaO), and 15 to 25 wt.% of magnesium oxide(MgO); a plasticity imparting step(S12) of injecting a proper amount of subsidiary materials into the mixed raw materials to increase plasticity of the mixed raw materials, and kneading the mixture; a molding step(S13) of molding the kneaded material into articles with various shapes such as cylindrical, oval and polygonal shapes, wherein pores are formed in the articles to enable liquids to pass through the pores at a flow rate of 0.5 liters per hour; and a drying and firing step(S14) of drying the molded articles, and firing the dried articles at 700 to 1100 deg.C.
