Subject: reduction by solar energy of the humidity of sludge derived from urban sewage-treating installations (filtering under pressure). Constitution: asphalt coating applied to a horizontal or slightly sloping ground whereon the sludge will be placed in order to be dried; parallel plastic pipes being 1-2 cm in diameter according to the ground inclination and placed at 3-10 cm under the asphalt layer for accomodating the hot water circulation; planar solar collectors encountered at little distance from the asphalt layer and so from the sludge to be dried; a pump being powered by an autonomous photovoltaic system positioned aside the solar collectors and used for assisting the hot water circulation through the underground plastic pipes; ashelter protecting the laterally free sludge area; the inclined roof of the foregoing shelter supported by perpendicular beams calked on the ground and consisted of a plexiglass-type compact translucent plastic material and adequate gutters serving for the water rain drainage. Purpose: high-humidity reduction of sludge produced -after adequate filtering- in urban sewage-treating installations; handy and easier handling of dried low-humidity and reduced-volume sludge. |
