An airbag activation and deactivation system for a passenger seat (2, 3) airbag in a vehicle provides for a steering unit (5), at least one sensor (6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11) sending information to said steering unit and a deactivation device (12) for said passenger seat airbag. If conditions are met for occupation of said passenger seat (2) by someone or something different from an adult person the steering unit (5) activates a signal unit (13) to send out a signal to the driver of a vehicle to check if said passenger seat (2) is occupied by someone or something different from an adult person, to check if the respective airbag has to be deactivated and to activate/deactivate said passenger seat airbag by said deactivation device (12) if necessary. |
