<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new light-emitting device which can reduce speckle noise, and is of high output. <P>SOLUTION: A light-emitting device 100 includes a clad layer, an active layer 108 formed above the clad layer, and another clad layer formed above the active layer, wherein at least a part of the active layer constitutes a gain region 180, the gain region continues from a first end face 170 provided in one of the side face 107 of the active layer to a second end face 172 provided in another side face 109 of the active layer, and wherein the first end face side among the gain region slants to the vertical line of the first end face when viewed planarly, the second end face side among the gain region slants to the vertical line of the second end face when viewed planarly, the lights L1, L2 emitted at least from one face among the first end face and the second end face proceed to a single direction or a converging direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
