<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily establish a virtual private network (VPN) tunnel between a plurality of communication devices, and to optimize a network topology in accordance with an operation status of each communication device. <P>SOLUTION: A communication system including a plurality of communication devices has a management device for communicating with each of the communication devices. Each communication device is caused to carry out processing for establishing a VPN tunnel with other communication device in response to an instruction from the management device. When operation of each of the communication devices is monitored by communicating with the communication device and it is detected that a communication device, to which a role of an intermediate node is assigned, is not operated, then, the management device is caused to instruct the other communication device, that has instructed the communication device which is not operating as a connection destination of the VPN tunnel, to change the connection destination of the VPN tunnel, and to carry out processing for reprogramming a network topology so that the communication device does not become the intermediate node. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
