<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high surface quality in the inner wall surface of a worked hole without generating a damage or vibration of a cutting edge when the cutting edge comes into contact with a material to be drilled. <P>SOLUTION: In a detachably attached insert for a drill, one of the cutting edges 15 formed in four side edges of a cutting face 12 of a square plate shaped insert body 11 protrudes to an end side of a drill body of the insert drill. The cutting edge 15 includes a main cutting edge 21 and a wiper edge 22 extending in order in one circumferential direction of the cutting face 12 from a corner edge 20. In a plan view opposed to the cutting face 12, the main cutting edge 21 further includes a first main cutting edge part 21A extending in a convex curved line from the corner edge 20 and a second main cutting edge part 21B in smooth contact with the first main cutting edge part 21A and extending in a straight line.
