<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means of adjusting the incident direction of light which is made incident to a 3D mirror and the reflection direction of the light reflected on the 3D mirror in a variable wavelength dispersion compensator using VIPA. <P>SOLUTION: A variable wavelength dispersion compensator is used which includes: a lens which condenses respective light beams branched for each wavelength with the VIPA; a mirror which reflects and returns the condensed light beams to the lens; and an optical element (preferably, an optical element having a wedge shape) including the optical axis passing through the center of the lens and provided between the lens and the mirror, wherein the optical element is so composed that the difference in the angle between the incident light to the optical element and the optical axis and the angle between the emitting light from the optical element and the optical axis becomes equal to the shift of the install angle of the mirror with respect to the optical axis. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
