PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insect trap that reduces the volume of electric shock sound in applying an electric shock to insects. SOLUTION: The electroshock insect trap 1 is equipped with an insect attracting light source (insect attracting part) and an electrode part 3 for applying an electroshock to insects attracted by a light emitted from the insect attracting light source. The electrode part 3 is composed of a positive pole 31 and a negative pole 32. The positive pole 31 is composed of a positive pole grid (positive pole) 31a and a positive pole base 31b. The negative pole part 32 is composed of a negative pole grid (negative pole) 32a and a negative pole base 32b. The positive pole grid 31a has a projected part 31c extended so as to shorten a distance to the negative pole grid 32a. The negative pole part 32a has a projected part 32c extended so as to shorten a distance to the positive pole grid 31a. When an insect passes through a space between the positive pole grid 31a and the negative pole grid 32a, a dielectric breakdown occurs between both the grids 31a and 32a and an electric current flows through the insect to cause an electric discharge.
