<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cable type conveyor usable even if a conveying path includes a horizontal curved path. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A carrier 2 connects a plurality of trolleys 21, 22 supported movably along a predetermined track with connecting rods 25, and cable gripping devices 3, 4 switching a cable gripping state CL for transmitting a driving force of a cable 5 to the carrier 2 and a cable releasing state OP for not transmitting the driving force of the cable 5 to the carrier 2 are mounted to a front end trolley 21 and a rear end trolley 22 swingingly upward and downward. An upward and downward swing means for swinging the cable gripping devices 3, 4 upward and downward is provided so that the cable gripping devices 3, 4 and the cable 5 do not interfere with each other even if they relatively swing in a horizontal direction in the cable releasing state OP. The upward and downward means is made to act on the horizontal curved path, and the gripping and releasing of the front and back cable gripping devices 3, 4 are switched so as to move the carrier 2 along the conveying path including the horizontal curved path.
