<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultraviolet irradiation apparatus capable of irradiating ultraviolet ryas to an object face without unevenness even if a plurality of lamps are used as a light source. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A light emitting circuit 6 includes a sensor 8 for detecting the intensities of ultraviolet rays radiated from respective xenon lamps 7 and charge quantity adjustment means 9 for adjusting the electric charge quantities to be accumulated in the respective capacitors C1 so as to make the intensities of the ultraviolet rays radiated from a plurality of xenon lamps 7 even based on the intensities of ultraviolet rays detected by the sensor 8 at the preliminary light emission time of previously emitting light from a light source 5 before actual irradiation of ultraviolet rays to the object face. The charge quantity adjustment means 9 lessens the electric charge quantity to be accumulated in capacitors C1 by increasing the bias voltage applied to the negative pole sides of the respective capacitors C1 from a bias circuit 10 for xenon lamps 7 having the ultraviolet intensities detected when preliminary light emission are higher than a standardized value.
