PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary mechanism capable of improving ease of use and sense of high grade by applying brake to the rotary mechanism by a damper means in the optimum manner. SOLUTION: This rotary mechanism has an energizing means 4 and the damper means, turns and operates a movable body 2 against energizing force of the energizing means till the middle of switching operation when switching the movable body 2 from a first position of a body 1 to a second position and vice versa, turns it by the energizing force of the energizing means 4 after that, and applies brake by the damper means in the predetermined section where it is turned by the energizing force. The movable body 2 has an arm 21 turning integrally with it, and the damper means is a piston damper 3 supported turnably on the body 1, connected with the arm 21 directly or indirectly, and switching the direction of extension and contraction in the middle of switching operation of the movable body 2.
