<p>In an FM/CW type radar unit (R), when object candidate information storage means (M5) stores a distance to an object or a relative speed thereof, which is acquired based on the combination of peak signals on the up side and down side of each detection area, object candidate information, grouping means (M7) groups a peak signal (1) acquired in an arbitrary detection area and a peak signal (2) acquired in another detection area when the frequency difference between both peak signals is equal to or lower than a predetermined value and when object candidate information based on the former peak signal (1) and object candidate information based on the latter peak signal (2), both stored in the object candidate information storage means (M5), substantially equal to each other. Further, object information calculating means (M8) calculates the distance to the object or the relative speed thereof based on up-side and down-side peak signals after the grouping process. This can permit the distance to the object or the relative speed thereof to be calculated accurately while minimizing the amount of arithmetic processing and the processing time.</p> |
