PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption in an apparatus connected to a communication line.

SOLUTION: A signal to be transmitted via a network 1 is received by a transmission/reception part 21. A control part 10 sets one reception limit level among a plurality of stages of reception limit levels to limit the reception of the signal received by the transmission/reception part 21. An A/D converting part 22 and a packet processing part 23 perform the reception processing of a signal corresponding to the set reception limit level.
