<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stain-proof antibacterial agent for textile products, capable of easily attaching a titanium-based photocatalytic component and an antibacterial metal component to a textile product and attaining soilproofness and antibacterial property without varying the properties of the textile product, and to provide a method for using the agent. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The stain-proof antibacterial agent for textile products is obtained by mixing a polyacrylic acid having a molecular weight of ≤20,000 and/or its alkali metal salt, a titanate coupling agent and water and further mixed with a polyvinyl alcohol. The agent may be further mixed with zinc ion and/or silver ion, further with carboxymethyl cellulose, further with sodium acetate and further with a solid photocatalyst (titanium oxide and/or an apatite-coated titanium oxide, etc.). The method for the use of the agent comprises the application of the stain-proofing antibacterial agent for textile products to a textile product and the heating of at least the area attached with the stain-proofing antibacterial agent for textile products.
