摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element that suppresses variation in optical characteristics due to reflow processing. SOLUTION: The optical element is formed principally of a thermosetting resin, wherein when a refractive index is measured in a state of a plate type molding which has a heat conductivity of at least 0.4 W/mK and a thickness of 3 mm, a refractive index distribution value X along the thickness of the plate type molding satisfies a condition of formula (1) of X=&int;¾nd-n¾&times;&omega;(n)dn/&int;&omega;(n)dn&lt;1.3&times;10<SP>-3</SP>, wherein nd is a refractive index on a d-line of a main peak, n is an optional index within a range of nd&plusmn;0.01, and &omega;(n) is intensity at a refractive index n.
