Provided is a makeup cosmetic, skin cosmetic or the like having good wetness and perspiration resistance and excellent utility such as spreadability on application and excellent retention.  Compounded in said cosmetic is a silicone resin, comprising R3SiO1/2 units (A) and RSiO3/2 units (B) in the proportions (A) : (B) from 1 : 1 to 1 : 7, having a softening point from 50 to 110°C.  (In the formula, R represents a substituted or unsubstituted univalent hydrocarbyl group.)
