SPATIAL IMAGE DISPLAY APPARATUS

A spatial image display apparatus comprising an entity part and a light reflection optical element which reflects display light from the entity part toward the observer, wherein the light reflection optical element is a structure in which micromirror units each having first and second light reflection surfaces are arranged in a matrix, and the display light from the entity part is reflected twice on the first and second light reflection surfaces to form a mirror image.  The light reflection optical element is a structure wherein first and second assemblies in each of which a plurality of longitudinal members each having one light reflection surface are arranged in parallel so that the light reflection surfaces are directed in the same direction are superimposed one on another so that the respective light reflection surfaces are crossed.  The light reflection surfaces of the first assembly constitute the first light reflection surface of the micromirror unit.  The light reflection surfaces of the second assembly constitute the second light reflection surface of the micromirror unit.
