METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR SETTING OPTICAL DRIVE WRITE SPEED

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system which can identify an optical medium so that an optical drive associates a write strategy with the optical medium even though the optical medium is released after optical disk drive.

SOLUTION: This system is provided with: an information processing component generating storage information; an optical drive receiving and storing the information and writing information to the optical medium according to write strategy; a write strategy table having a plurality of optical medium identification codes each having one associated write strategy; a general write strategy table having a plurality of preliminarily assigned optical medium identification codes each of which is associated with one of a plurality of general write strategies; and a write strategy module reading the optical medium identification code from the optical medium and providing write strategy associated with the optical drive, reading the preliminarily assigned optical medium identification code, and providing the general write strategy associated with the optical drive.
