<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformly form a fully solid image at an appropriate density even when small-particle diameter toner is used in a one-component development device. <P>SOLUTION: The method for adjusting an amount of adhered toner for an image forming apparatus includes: a photoreceptor 1; a developing roller 21 for applying toner T to the photoreceptor 1; a toner supply roller 22 for supplying toner T to the developing roller 21; and a toner layer regulating member 23 disposed in contact with the developing roller 21 for reducing the thickness of a toner layer on the developing roller 21. If the amount of adhered toner per unit area of a toner layer formed on the developing roller 21 after the surface of the developing roller 21 with a fully solid image formed on the photoreceptor 1 is passed under the toner supply roller 22 and under the toner layer regulating member 23 is represented by M1, a target amount of adhered toner per unit area of the fully solid image formed on the photoreceptor 1 is represented by M2, and the ratio of the linear velocity of the developing roller 21 to the linear velocity of the photoreceptor 1 is represented byη, M1>M2/ηis satisfied. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
