<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve rigidity of a bottom guard with a simple structure at low cost. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An epoxy-based adhesive 21 which has viscosity and thermosetting properties is applied on the laminar and flat sheetlike bottom guard 20 provided on the bottom part of the upper swing body of a hydraulic shovel so as to obtain a reinforced member 21A which is hardened through sintering. The reinforced member 21A can improve the rigidity of the bottom guard 20. The epoxy-based adhesive 21 is, for example, linearly applied so as to form a plurality of equally spaced coated lines.
