<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat pipe at low cost, having a contact thermal resistance with a mating material which is small. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This heat pipe includes a carbonized aluminum phase or an aluminum oxide phase, in at least one portion on the outer peripheral face thereof, and a plurality of carbonized aluminum whiskers or aluminum whiskers provided on the carbonized aluminum phase or the aluminum oxide phase.
