<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure high operation reliability by reducing an amount of foreign matter intruding into an interior from a gap of a fitting part of a pulley and a hub in a power transmitting device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The power transmitting device is equipped with the pulley 1 rotatably attached to a casing 6 of a rotating machine having a rotary shaft 4, and the hub 2 connected to the pulley 1, rotating integrally with the pulley 1, and joined to the rotary shaft 4. The pulley 1 and the hub respectively have the mutually-contacting contact surfaces 101 or mutually-adjacent adjacent faces 101, and at least one recessed part 102 is annularly formed on the pulley side and/or hub side contact surface 101 or adjacent face 101.
