WAVE POWER PLANT AND METHOD FOR OPERATING THE SAME

The invention relates to a method for operating a wave power plant comprising a wave chamber which communicates with a flow channel that leads to the exterior, an oscillating air current being produced by the wave movement inside the wave chamber; and an air turbine which is arranged in the flow channel and which at least indirectly drives an electrical generator, air flowing against said air turbine from two sides and the air turbine rotating in a single direction. The invention is characterized in that the electrical generator supplies electrical power, averaged over a plurality of flow oscillation periods in the flow channel, to the power supply system via a converter on the generator side, an intermediate DC circuit and a converter on the network side, an electrical energy store being connected to the intermediate DC circuit by means of a DC converter. The voltage in the intermediate DC circuit is maintained between a lower limiting voltage and an upper limiting voltage by controlling and/or adjusting the power input and the power output. The speed of the air turbine is adjusted depending on a variable characterizing the flow in the flow channel and/or the pressure in the wave chamber.
