According to an embodiment of the present invention, an endoscope includes: a light source; an optical fiber having a light entrance portion through which light including information about the image of a place, in which light emitted by the light source is irradiated, is incident, and having a light exit portion through which light passing through the inside of the optical fiber is emitted; and an image obtaining unit obtaining the image information. The image obtaining unit includes: an image sensor obtaining information about light passing through the optical fiber; a transmission matrix storage unit storing a transmission matrix indicating the transmission states of various types of light incident through the light entrance portion; and an image restoring unit restoring the image information from the light information obtained by the image sensor by a compression sensing technique using sparse representation, using the transmission matrix. According to the present invention, the optical fiber of the endoscope can be reduced, thus reducing a patient′s inconvenience and obtaining a sufficient amount of image information required for diagnosis. |
