<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a jaw closure mechanism or a jaw angle detector for an end effector assembly of forceps. <P>SOLUTION: The jaw angle detection system for an end effector assembly is provided with a first electric contact attached to a first jaw member, and adapted to be connectable to either a controller or a power generator, and a sensor attached to either a second jaw member or an actuator, and adapted to be connectable to either the controller or the power generator, that is a sensor composed in such a mode that it moves to the first contact as either the second jaw member or the actuator moves when the first jaw member and the second jaw member are moved for closing the periphery of a tissue disposed between them. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
