<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide fuser assemblies including fuser belts that can be used for mixed media print jobs and are energy efficient. <P>SOLUTION: The fuser assemblies 800 include a continuous fuser belt 810 including an inner surface 826 and an outer surface 828; at least rolls 802, 812 which support the fuser belt 810, at least one of the rolls being adapted to heat the fuser belt 810; a heater 822 including an outer heating surface 824 facing the inner surface 826 of the fuser belt 810; and mechanisms 840 and 850 for moving the heater 822 to bring the heating surface 824 into contact with the inner surface 826 of the fuser belt 810. The heater 822 is operable to supply heat from the heating surface 824 to the inner surface 826 to increase the temperature of the outer surface 828 of the fuser belt 810 adjacent the inner surface 826 heated by the heating surface 824. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
