DEVICE FOR LIFTING A LOAD

The present invention relates to a device for lifting a load for maneuvering, like a sling for arranging around or on the load. Such a device comprises an assembly of a fiber core and a protection around the core. Further the device comprises a sleeve on the assembly. In a specific preferred embodiment the device exhibits the property that the sleeve is arranged loosely on the assembly enabling movement thereof along the length of the assembly. In other specific embodiments one or more of the core, the protection and the sleeve can comprise High Modulus PolyEthylene (HMPE) fibers, such as Dyneema or Spectra.
